Chinese Surveillance Drones Intercepted By Japanese Forces

Chinese Surveillance drones were spotted twice flying over the East China Sea, an area contested by China, Japan, and Taiwan, by Japan’s military earlier this week, and intercepted by Japanese fighters.

The WZ-7 drones have an estimated range of 4,350 miles and a service ceiling of 60,000 feet. The WZ-7 is comparable to the U.S.-made RQ-4 Global Hawk, which also flies up to 60,000 feet.
