China Daily, a state publication owned by the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party, published what they described as a "big story" that centered around exposing IPVM for Working With BBC, The NY Times, Reuters, etc. Here's the core 30-second clip:
This came from a 6-minute video that was first published on Twitter, embedded below:
The US has conducted mass surveillance on Chinese internet and is utilizing its propaganda apparatus to extend its digital hegemony. Their latest target is an open bidding document website in China. #MediaUnlocked pic.twitter.com/n6XSudK7m0

2 days later, they posted it as an article on China Daily's China site: 美国大规模监控中国政府采购公开招标信息,纽约时报等都牵涉其中...... and it was even on their homepage for a day as the #2 story below Xi Jinping:
IPVM has been blocked inside the PRC since 2018: PRC China Government Blocks IPVM so the fact that the PRC government does not approve of our reporting is not news. And last month, PRC State Media Condemns IPVM, Confirms Foreign Journalists Targeted, with the Global Times writing an article criticizing us. But China Daily, with a dedicated produced video, is a level up of attention from the PRC.
China Daily's core argument is contradictory, (1) they criticize us for what they describe as conducting "mass surveillance" but then also say (2) that the information is easily and directly made available by the PRC government. That said, I don't expect coherent analysis from the CCP any more than I would for the marketing department of a corporation.
It was 5 years ago, in 2017, that Hikvision confidently dismissed us as "bloggers" and that we were "destined to fail" and yet here we are now.
