As we have often reported, the false alarm problem is still unsustainable throughout the US, now resolved throughout Canada. They only report “verified 911 type threats” for high priority response, at no cost recovery fees. All unverified, nuisance calls, are billed to the monitoring source, not the alarm site @ $100-$300, or more, which has launched very effective and profitable private sources for alarm response. No regulatory fees or false alarm fines for citizen alarm sites. Most of their policy or ordinance are same throughout Canada… Very simple and very effective for citizen loss prevention and law enforcement, and for alarm security professionals. RMR market values in Canada have been retained or increased, due to more customer upgrade to VR, and cost effective private deterrent response. All of which has been time, street, investor and court tested. Major Alarm Associations in the US are still resisting change from the Model Ordinance, which can imperil their membership RMR market value.
