Can I Use Different VMS Software On A Vendor Customized NVR?

Hi,

I have a client who is currently using Honeywell as a complete surveillance system(NVR+VMS) where he wants to replace the VMS and at the same time utilize the NVRs made by honeywell ( MAXPRO NVR SE). Is it possible to utilize the existing NVR to install different VMS as a software(disregarding storage and network capabilities)?
