Cactus Cameras?

I've seen some strange covert camera installations over the years, but this is the most bizarre. Here's the cactus camera.

Strange they aren't telling the public about them until after they are installed.

Burke said the cameras are not being put in fake cactus to be secretive, but because there are no light poles in the area to put them on. He says they're trying to make the cameras aesthetically pleasing.

Good luck with that excuse.

Call me naive, but that sounds reasonable, especially since it is easy to see that there is a camera inside.

I just meant the aesthetics part.

By the looks of it, you would think that was the installers first time doing a rough-in on a desert plant. And he even forgot the flush mount cactus bracket.

What kind of camera is that exactly?

Edit: Ah, license plate camera.

"Again, not trying to hide anything, the police department, this was my request of before we get going at these one at a time, lets get them all together and make sure we understand and everybody is on the same page," he said.

If you keep telling everyone you aren't trying to be secretive maybe they will believe you! Probably not. No light poles to put a camera on, really? But there was a fake cactus you could install one on? Perhaps somebody should have told him he could have put up his own pole for surveillance cameras, I mean you did install your own cactus afterall.

It does look like a real cactus. These saguaro cacti often have holes in them that are big enough for cameras actually...
