After the Class 6 Network Cabling i have talked my boss into buying a Cable Tester. I need one for day to day use so probably a Cable Verifiers that i could keep in my tool bag. We could also probably do with a Cable Qualifier for end testing and commissioning. Could anyone recommend a good reliable Make/Model for both types of testers, i'm in the UK.
I like Fluke's Microscanner 2 Verifiers.
They have a large backlit screen that is easy to see and interpret at a glance, which is helpful if you're in a crawlspace or atop a ladder with limited movement.
All the typical features like wiremap and cable fault detection are supported.
A kit including the most relevant connectors, probes, and toner runs less about $750.
It is not the cheapest option out there by far, but if you buy a good device once it can prevent you from spending even more fixing runs labeled bad from measuring errors caused by cheaper devices.
