Does anybody have any experiencing building their own Windows IOT board with an integrated POE Switch like Razberi or Axis does?
Building A Windows IOT Board With Integrated POE Switch
I've thought about it, but most of the little IOT boards are ARM, so most common VMS type software won't run on it, and I've never been able to find any sort of POE card for cheap.
The last one I priced out for myself ended up being quite a bit more than just your standard cheap all in one recorder.
But I was trying to do it so it looked like a neat finish product, instead of just the guts of a POE switch put inside of a case with a patch cord connecting the Motherboard or IOT board to the switch, I wanted like an integrated thing.
We were going to test something like this but the cost didn't make sense.
Check out: http://www.nexcom.com/ you can chat with them to find out if they have a more detailed comparison. I have recently dealt with some AV products that Windows 10 embedded, no onboard POE, however they do have onboard Nvidia chips. I am sure they have some affiliation with a like product you mentioned above. I think onboard PoE is ok for small systems but for larger systems you are adding a lot of heat to the same chassis.
