Are we really that close to a switch from premise-based systems to cloud-based ones? Any predictions for when cloud-based security (video or access control) will be the norm?

Quite the straw man from Van Till.
The point is about when it will happen. Yes, if video surveillance and access control were going to be 80% cloud in 15 months, this would be a massive impact on the industry. But it could just as well be 15 years.
And you know what is going to be in the 'other' / 'remaining' 20% of that survey? Video surveillance and access control....
