Are we really that close to a switch from premise-based systems to cloud-based ones? Any predictions for when cloud-based security (video or access control) will be the norm?

For all the #server-huggers out there who think that physical security will never cross the chasm from on-premise to #cloud [emphasis added]
Quite the straw man from Van Till.
The point is about when it will happen. Yes, if video surveillance and access control were going to be 80% cloud in 15 months, this would be a massive impact on the industry. But it could just as well be 15 years.
And you know what is going to be in the 'other' / 'remaining' 20% of that survey? Video surveillance and access control....
Note: I registered and downloaded the original report cited by Van Till: The state of cloud adoption and security.
It's ludicrous, at best, to imply that 80+% of IT budgets will become cloud based in the next 15 months.
