Bolide Cameras / Servers For Large Commercial Projects - Good Or Bad Idea?

There's not much info on IPVM regarding Bolide cameras and servers. I'm looking for some information on how they rate in overall quality, low light performance, WDR performance, customer support, etc.  IPVM member's comments on past posts were 'good camera for a DIY project'. Would they be classified equal with Hik and Dahua? Where on the quality/performance scale do they fall? A commercial client is asking me about them and I would like some input. Bolide employees and sales people please don't reply.

Bolide is a blast from the past. This was the first "PC Based" system I ever installed years ago. Heck I would say 2001 maybe. It was OK back then for a simple system but I would not recommend. Most of their stuff is made by others. They simply package up products and sell them. I didn't even know they were still around. Not sure about quality of their product anymore though. Actually what we bought most from them were their covert systems. Smoke head camera, wireless receiver, Sony DAT recorder and high dollar Pelican case.

According to their DVR manual, the MAC address of their devices show 00:23:63 for their OUI (page 40, section 7.6.3).

So the actual manufacturer is Zhuhai Raysharp Technology Co.,Ltd

The company seems to still be around, and someone's trying to convince my client to install this brand of cameras & servers over the typical professional-grade brands. Does anyone else here have any input?

They've always been pretty good at picking and choosing products to rebrand and sell, but that's all it is they do. You can find just about everything they make elsewhere. Even their covert camera line isn't as good as Brickhouse or KJB anymore.

Their mobile solutions are decent and economical, I'll give them that.

Also, they do have a bunch of really top notch analog cameras for dirt cheap, which are getting harder to find nowadays as manufacturers drop their analog lines. But how often does that come up?

Of course, if you're looking for an extremely low cost alternative to Hikua, Bolide might be a good fit. They've got very decent customer service, and their prices are fair for the quality you receive.
