Business or personal?
US or other?
For those who did the mass market residential it was required and facilitated by the contract buyer.
For those who did commercial leasing, the leasing company ran the credit.
Business in the USA.
We are looking for the best place to do credit checks on our business clients who want to sign up for our service.
Usually Dunn & Bradstreet, bank and trade references. File a UCC1 and so forth. Talk to your bank.
How about personal? Any suggestions for that market? We may be doing a small bit of creative in-house financing.

It costs money unless you have the customer run their own for free and release it to you.
It used to be 600+ would allow you to get a $36.00 monitored alarm. Desperate dealers could push to get a 575 bought. 650 and above were considered a better risk.
If my memory serves me, some dealers were cautious when someone had above 800 because they were difficult to deal with!
