Has IPVM profiled March Networks versus Verint specifically for the banking vertical? I’m interested to see an impartial comparison to include feature/function, ease of use, cost and cyber security approaches.
Banking - March Networks Or Verint?
As a follow up to the above, I’m trying to determine why the Verint hard drive replacements are so costly. Any feedback would be helpful and appreciated.
Verint has long since shifted away from video surveillance. Video surveillance mostly continues to exist to make money on Verint's legacy banking business. Net/net Verint does not care about video surveillance and treats it and their customers accordingly.
#1, thanks for the question and your first comment. We have not tracked Verint much in the last few years as they have increasingly focused outside of video surveillance. Sean will reach out to Verint to see if they are willing to talk, in the past they have been reluctant.
10 years ago, March and Verint were the big two but now many other VMSes have taken share in banking as the market has evolved.
Verint has a decent size job in Washington State, a rather new casino. Their VMS and partially some of their cameras. End User has been quite happy with overall performance, and we just take reoccurring orders from them.
#4, thanks. Do you see Verint doing many projects or actively selling video surveillance in your area?
Nothing else for Verint here. Pretty sure Verint got the end user to choose noone else VMS wise.
March we do alot of banking on in this region.
One of my engineers built out a large Verint system in a casino right before he came onboard. He doesn't have anything bad to say about it and it's been reliable for them. After meeting with Verint I was surprised by some of the large customers they with there VMS.

Verint has had mega customers in video surveillance for many years and, to the extent, they still sell into video surveillance, that is the type of customer they target.
Have you compared Verint to Avigilon?
I saw a quick demo of Verint but I haven't had any hands-on experience yet as we have been slammed with projects. At some point in the upcoming months, we will have a demo running.
Long term March Networks is the way to go. Once you buy the equipment you don't have to keep on buying any software support agreements. Also the product is very stable and reliable. Many banks use the Milestone platform especially for it's reliability and cyber security toughness. March has their new 9000 series recorders that have made the systems more affordable as well.
As one of the orginal team members of Verint (Lanex), we built a platform for banking based on data integration and simplicty of search capabilities. We were David against the Goliath Video Companies like Pelco. Our focus on Banking proved to be successful strategy and the March rivalry grew to see who would own the banking vertical. Over the last decade Verint/March became the new Goliaths in Banking Video. But, Cloud technology has once again transformed the industry and the new Davids are hitting the market. I am excited to take the lessons learned at Verint while on point there for over a dozen years and apply them now at Solink, one of the new Davids... Watch out Goliath, we now have grown over 1,000 Financial locations in just the last year.

Rob, how many total banking customers does Solink have now?
As a point of reference, there are some ~100,000 bank branches in the US so 1,000 is not much. I am not trying to criticize you but it's important to provide context since you posted a sales pitch.
Thanks John, my appologies for lacking in context. You are correct that 1,000+ locations is small potatoes compared to 100,000 US Branches. While in my leadership role at Verint, hitting 1,000 locations was a milestone that took my team many years to achieve. My optimism at Solink is over our rapid growth the last two years and seeing first hand the pattern repeating itself. Getting to 1,000 in a fraction of the time it took us at Verint, is very encouraging. My hope is that I am not overselling our total numbers which are honestly very small compared to Verint & March but being thankful that the industry is more than open to working with the next generation of technology and giving newer companies like Solink a chance.
I do think Solink has a chance. You have product, funding, and competitors like Verint who are far less motivated than a startup like yours to improve.
Rob, the banks that are your customers, they use 360 cameras mainly for lobby purpose or where else?
Both our Banks and Retailers are using 360 Cameras more and more. With our ability to drop virtual pins (identifers on individual tellers/atms and pos systems) and tie them to transaction data, they can use a 360 to cover more than one transaction point. The virtual fly thru from any 360 Camera with our app on a mobile device is also very helpful for following people in one view.
