Hi, we recently did a job with 9 extra Axis 14xx series cameras. 1 month later and 3 are dead.

Anyone else had this kind of failure rate. Seeing the same at some other sites, seem to run around 6 months and they just die.

Had the same in our own office a 4k axis camera dying 3 times!!

Supposed to be a premium brand?

I've never used the 14xx series Axis cameras but pretty much every other model. The only model I've ever had an issue with was the 211m. I had about 25 of the image sensors go out within the 1st year and couldn't get a batch replacement but could replace them one by one. Other than this model I've had little to no failure rate with Axis.

Interesting on the sensors, did you do it yourself or was it back to axis? had / have loads of these axis 207,216,221 etc all with the same fault on the sensor.

Axis wouldn't acknowledge that this specific model had bad image sensors. The replacement process put a bad taste in my mouth for Axis that they wouldn't replace all of the cameras at once. This was all back in 2009. I do have some 216 and 221 cameras still kicking but all of my 211m have died since installation.

Axis had to lower prices to compete with Asian manufacturers. The result is that the exec level didn't reduce their paychecks. They just cut corners on manufacturing to try to reduce the haircut on their margins.  We've had a lot of problems with Axis lately.

I've used P1428 for a while with no issues. Just starting using P1448 which is significantly better in build and image quality.  No problems, and fingers crossed.
