I have been using Axis Device Manager (ADM) for years to manage my 1800+ Axis cameras. I'm an end user, not an integrator. My Axis rep recently pitched Axis Device Manager Extend (ADMX). I was told it was free, just like ADM. I was also told that eventually Axis would merge the two products in a couple years.
AMD is a single server that could manage all my cameras. I was able to push firmware updates, update configurations, and generally see what camera are up/down.
