Avigilon Fisheye In Milestone Xprotect Pro+

Hi.

Have anybody tried using an Avigilon 6.0L-H4F-DO1-IR under Milestone Xprotect Pro+? I guess motion and storage will work fine, but how about the fisheye function? Will it be possible to ptz the image in live, playback and exported playback? Will any required plugins be exported with the exported player? Or will we have to include instructions to installing plugins to the police?

On milestones pages, this camera is not on the supported devices list. So I'm hoping it just hasn't been included yet. We have many of these cameras, and people are talking about switching vms software...

Hello U1,

When it comes to dewarping fisheye cameras in the Milestone software, there are two options.  One option is dewarping at the camera where the camera sends the dewarped stream to our software.  Not all cameras have this functionality though.

The other is dewarping the fisheye stream in the Smart Client.  We currently do not have a way to dewarp the Avigilon fisheye cameras though.

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Dewarping on the client, or player, would be the preferred option. Having multiple streams with different angles, is not really practical, as we use these cameras on playback, in the same way you would use a ptz dome live. The best solution before avigilon got their fisheyes, was static cameras. The "fisheye as a multi imager camera", is worse than two cameras looking at the same scene from different directions.

Thank you for clearing this up for me.
