"CSEM has developed the world’s first fully autonomous camera that can be deployed like a sticker, opening up new possibilities for surveillance and IOT sensors. The patented Witness IOT camera is solar-powered and includes a specially designed CMOS image sensor consuming less than 700uW."

It’s getting there.

Now they just need a way to transmit the stream on micro-power.

Cary, thanks for sharing. We will contact them and ask some questions to see how it might evolve.

As #1 alluded to, right now it's pretty limited in what it can do:

An innovative high-dynamic range (120dB) CMOS image sensor consuming less than 700uW @ 10 fps for 320x320 pixels was designed; intelligent embedded software allows triggering by scene–activity detection. The camera records fixed images at 1fps and stores them in flash memory for later USB readout. [emphasis added]

320 x 320 @ 1FPS, and you download the images via USB.

It's neat, but not really super exciting to think about a .1MP camera, you'll be recording blobs for the most part.

Somewhere there is a sales person that heard "lick and stick cameras" and is pricing them into a quote as we speak.

We spoke to CESM and got some information on future plans from them. Check out the following article: 'Sticker' Surveillance Camera Developed (CSEM Witness)
