Augmented Reality In Bosch Video Management System 8.0

There is a reference to "augmented reality" in the License Inspector (as "Augmented Reality Tags") and License Manager (as "Augmented Reality Expansion; MBV-XAGR-80"); However, I cannot find one reference to "augmented reality" or "precogs" in the Bosch Video Management System 8.0 configuration or operation manuals.

It looks like this is pertaining to Bosch Video Stitcher.

However, Bosch Video Security has a feature to control a PTZ via a smartphone's gyroscope and accelerometer, theoretically paving way for a VR headset workflow, but as of now, getting really dizzy due to whirling around raising your arms up and down to manually scan an area with your phone--it is!  Alas, I imagined true augmented reality headset integration and the ushering in of PreCrime crime fighting software fighting hardware era with Bosch.

Thinking about Video Stitcher -- where's a multi-sensor panoramic camera from Bosch?

Anyone familiar with Bosch's support for "augmented reality" or Video Stitcher (any videos of it in action)?

Hello,

The augmented reality licenses are part of the Bosch Video Stitcher. The Bosch Video Stitcher allows stitching of up to 16 cameras, which can make a scene fairly complex. In order to make it easier for the video surveillance operator to understand the scene, augmented reality tags can be added, as shown below. When the operator is looking at the grand overview a “dot” will be shown.

When the operator zooms into a scene the dot will be transformed into a textual tag.

This is available out of the box. We have the option to offer customizing this as well, having external systems feeding information into the tags. This could, for example, allow a video surveillance operator at an airport to look at a gate, and see the flight-number of the plane parked at that gate, based on live information in the flight management system. As information is stored in different types of systems, and these systems have different interfaces, we cannot offer this out of the box. A project-specific discussion is therefore required.

Let me know if you have additional questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Kind regards,

Mario, Product Manager Bosch Video Management System.
