Suggestion For A "Man Down" Video Analytic?

Hey

As subjekt says, I seek a "man down" alarm (Video analytic og Wireless sensor). In specific, it has to alarm or notify if cleaning staff in an large Oil container, collapses or fall. In the end it has to pop up (Milestone smartwall) related PTZ cameras to inspect if it is serious or just tying shoelaces.

Any experience or info would be great.

I know one India based company  that provides "Person Collapsing on the floor". I have seen their demo in IFSEC 2018 in London. Name of the company is "Videonetics"

For a life safety application I'd stay away from video analytics altogether and use a device based on a switch and timer combination to sense when a person has "gone horizontal".

Bosch made one (likely still does) called Security Escort" that has "man-down" functionality and provides a mapped position accurate to within about 30-40 feet. Not the accuracy you are looking for but, from my experience, quite reliable.

Yes, Videonetics is a Video Computing Platform company out of India. We have developed AI based technology to detect a person collapsing on the floor within the field of view of the camera. The technology has been demonstrated successfully and planned to be deployed in number of Smart City projects in India. We'll be happy to discuss and offer this technology.

Lasse,

If you don't find a reliable video solution I would recommend that you look at using an Intrinsically safe Motorola portable radio such as is used by Fire personnel in HAZMAT environments.  These radios won't blow the place and your people up because of explosive gases when they transmit.   They automatically notify a local base station of a man-down event with and alert, as well as open the radios local microphone to monitor local audio, as well, as you can speak with the person carrying the radio to check his or her status.  For safety reasons, It is typical that the person carrying the radio cannot clear the man-down alarm after it is triggered.  The man-down alarm must be cleared by human intervention at the base station.  The controlling base can be located locally.  Keep in mind that regardless of the system you choose, metal tanks will not pass RF signal very well, if at all.  So, you will probably need at the minimum a passive radiator antenna system or an RF repeater with antennas to make sure you have a 100% 2-way radio coverage between the inside and outside of the tank.

Your request sounds pretty simple on its face but when life and safety is at stake it gets more complicated pretty quickly.

Hope this helps

I think the vest I had to wear in an asylum job walk had a similar module strapped attached in case you are attacked.

I think they've closed most of the asylums now and those people are out on the street!  Maybe we should all be looking at man-down devices?  Funny-but-not-funny........just reality.

The Motorola/Teldio MDN system is pretty popular, used by our local fire department.  They also wear air packs that can detect a lack of motion that triggers an alarm.

Using video analytics might not be the safest approach. We worked in the past with a company called OttoGee.com that can integrate with Milestone smartwall. It is a IOT connected wearable device that will notify you when you have a man down "Man down".
