Is there any documentation available on assessing/testing the performance of a newly deployed large-scale VMS system? (sometimes referred to as 'non-functional' requirements or NFRs.)

This can include test criteria such as PTZ camera control lag time, ANPR % accuracy, retrieval of recorded video, maximum time for user to log onto VMS, etc.

I did come across this document -

see section 4.5 SLA Matrix for Post Implementation SLAs

But would be keen to know if there is anything else along these lines out there.

In our past lives selling and supporting VoIP PBX systems, we charges dearly to review, analyze, and configure LAN environments to support SIP,QOS,VLANS',etc. well in advance before we would put our solutions on the clients LAN. We've turn down 6 figure projects because the client said, they take care of that, and after looking at their LAN environments we said... NOPE.....

The same goes for Video, I'd never install our solutions atop a clients LAN without first an engineering engagement to certify and test that their LAN is suitable for video. IE. In 10+ years, we've never used un-managed switches. (the first thing to look at on camera issues is L2 errors, drop packets.. etc... (Seems many internal IT / cablers - Don't certify and test end2end including patch cords, and print the results and file them in the documentation manual. Uggg....

I'm sure 90+ % of all intermittent / issues over the years have been connection or environment related. BAD connections / cold or hot weather exacerbates the problems...
