Background for others, AFTVNews says they found this by crawling Amazon's site. There does not seem to be any other details available yet.

So it could be something that Amazon is imminently planning to release or it could be some prototype of something in development, not sure yet.

It would make sense for them to release a camera though, given the success of Alexa and their cloud infrastructure to store video.

@John Apologies, I should have put a disclaimer in. In terms of the viability that is my thinking too... A camera + Alexa makes a lot of sense. Google has been asleep at switch for the past two years with Nest so there is a huge opportunity.
