Adding 60% Lower Pricing / Restricted Access To IPVM Research Service
We have added a new tier to the IPVM Research Service - $480 per year total which includes Info+ and 10 Research Reports of one's choosing. This will be available to small businesses with under 10 employees and staff of organizations that have an IPVM Research Service subscription.
Reduced Pricing / Restricted Access
This is 60% lower than our original pricing which was $1,279 total ($199 for Info+ and $1,080 for Research Service). The main restriction is that this tier only includes 10 Research Reports while the $1,080 tier includes 30.
At $480 a year, this is just $281 higher than our long-standing $199 base price and for that $281 extra, subscribers get 10 Research Reports, for an average cost per report under $30. This way, subscribers can pick whatever they want including our most in-depth shootouts and guides.
Solve Critical Themes
This aims to solve the two most consistent critical themes of the new pricing structure - that small businesses were being priced out and that manufacturer employees could not be able to pay themselves or get their company to pay for them.
Now, at just $40 a month, we are confident that virtually everyone can afford this, though, as with any purchase, whether this is valuable is up to the individual.
Rationale For Pricing
While there have been debates about why and how to raise pricing, here is a recap of our main drivers:
- Inflation plus not having raised prices in over a decade
- Certain reports take far more resources (time/expertise) and therefore need higher revenue to offset/cover them (i.e., those in the Research Service).
- Those who use IPVM more should pay more (i.e., adjusting the price per number of reads)
- Those who get more value from IPVM should pay more (i.e., adjusting price by organization size).
No pricing plan is perfect but I am confident this is the right structure to enable IPVM to expand and produce the best possible reporting and research over the next decade.
