We are planning to test several entry level fixed lens 4MP models as they continue to see more use in low cost systems. What models should we test? What are you using?

Based on recommendations from users, we are currently planning to include:

Which other models do you recommend?

Note: Please explain why. Do not simply put model numbers.

Hi Ethan, do the cameras have to be IP? Can other technology transports apply like SDI?

Regards, Joe.

Let's see you test Digital Watchdogs new series (DWC-MV84WiA) price is reasonable if you're using Spectrum it includes a license, for us the price point with the license and having it have a motorized varifocal lens makes it a great replacement for Hikvision. We've had good luck with them so far. However, it's hard to tell how they really stack up without your awesome tests. I have a few complaints about them and would be curious if you come to the same conclusion.

Axis M3106-LVE would be most comparable to the Hanwha 7010R.

Possibly add the Vivotek FD8379-HV. With an MSRP of $340, and not being OEM by Hikua, this perfectly fits in here.

Why not test the low-cost/entry level such as Flir, Dahua, Hikvision, Uni, as well as the ones mentioned above.  It would be a nice perspective IMHO.

Dahua’s N44BG52 (was pro series now moved to lite), it has been our goto entry level cam for about a year now. Curious to see how it stacks up against the rest... especially the hanwha and dwd models as we are looking to add a more reputable (yet still value oriented) brand to our line card.

I cannot tell if we are behind the times or what the deal is as none of the brands we offer have a 4 MP unit that I am aware of.

4MP is more of a premium budget offering, i.e., for those who want low cost, but higher resolution.
