GIT Security: Mobotix Opens Up for Partnerships and Gets Fit for the Future
Mobotix Releasing New Camera Line - Mobotix MOVE
That's interesting, thanks for sharing. We'll cover this sometime this summer.
Update: We are scheduling a call with Mobotix for next week so expect a post a week after that.
I wonder who will be manufacturing the cameras for them. Any idea when more news gets released? Or wait until July I suppose.
I have a lot of Mobotix cameras. They used to be really ahead (~2009) and continue to offer a lot of configuration options, but they are falling behind.
1. no IR on the high end cams
2. Low-light perf. is getting destroyed by the new Axis Q3517s - and this includes the newer Mobotix 6mp sensors.
3. Very unimpressive analytics - had to move back to motion windows
4. VMS S/W that is quirky.
It is nice to see them adding H.264, but would have been nice to have H.265 or even H.264 with dynamic GOP/Frame rates. AV1 would be a good option to explore in the future, given the royalty improvements.
