Guess who and why? Or ignore and see our show report here.
Honovich Got Kicked Out Of An ASIS 2017 Booth - Who?
Avigilon - because you forgot all about them ;)
Avigilon is in the report... Maybe Milestone? I don't see them in the report.
Milestone is not there because there is not anything significantly new. Their R3 release is coming out soon so we might cover that then.
But no, no hostility from Milestone.
I would be very surprised if John or any of his team were kicked out of a Milestone booth. All are welcome :)
Dahua, for the so true it hurts free press and new "hacked the world over" slogan.
Shorting shares at the Knightscope booth...
Shorting shares at the Knightscope booth...
You nailed it!
Come on, you can only give him partial credit! ;) #1 made 3 guesses (well, the HDCCTV one was a joke...)
Btw, interesting, at ISC West where they had the ridiculous sign soliciting people buying $3 shares:
At this show, they did not have that sign, which definitely was an improvement.
John, In all seriousness...
Before IPVM.... security product companies could make outrageous product claims with little accountability for their lies. It's becoming clear that IPVM is a threat to these sorts of companies.
Buy some Knightscope shares. Go to their annual shareholders' meeting. Wear a Ubiquiti FrontRow and walk steady.
Wouldn’t the require a significant investment on IPVM’s part? $3.00 for a share, $29.00 for a bus pass and then a happy meal.
Hikvision
It's a security convention, there's gotta be footage!

Did JH cheat at the Hanwha gambling table?
duh Hikvision.
You went to ASIS but you dont go to ISC west? What the??!?
duh Hikvision.
No. Hikvision did not kick me out. Hikvision handled it professionally.
Did JH think Cat Crap was edible?
My last guess... Did JH take the (not a converted golf cart) Police golf cart for an unauthorized test drive last night with the missing booth babes? Stopping only to pull the fire alarm at the Hampton Inn.
LOL.
Someone staying at the Hampton Inn told me about the 3AM parking garage fire that kept people outside for several hours. Nothing like standing around in your underwear in the middle of the night at a trade show to make for a memorable week.
It had to be LENEL because they were not there and this did not happen.
Pics or it didn't happen.
Lenel would not kick me out. They would just run away from me. Good thought though!
Was Dahua overwhelmed with gratitude for all the wonderful free advertising you've been giving them lately?
Escorted out of the HDCCTV Alliance booth by none other than Dr. Todd Rockoff?
Knightscope CEO threw me out of their booth. I just walked up to him, introduced myself and asked to talk. He said I was unprofessional, refused to talk and directed me to leave.
That is certainly his prerogative and I complied immediately. I do think though an effective CEO would try to convince / convert a critic given an opportunity like that. Salesmanship...
Which model did you get escorted out by? I’m hoping it was the stationary version
I’m hoping it was the stationary version
Well played...
Before I was kicked off, I did ask a staff member for an overview of their products and asked about the stationary K1 model. He explained the idea was putting them at a central ingress point and using it for monitoring, including weapon's detection. It seemed like an expensive camera / metal detector...
Knightscope CEO was caught on camera moments later celebrating his latest victory.
“and in other news today, it appears old school technology was used to remove and unruly person from the Knightscope booth at a regional security meeting.
According to the President, “We were warned of his presence by another participant who said “Yu should get that blogger out of you booth”. All of the robots were charging so a human had to remove him.
I just walked up to him, introduced myself...
On the other hand, the mysterious BK may have gone unrecognized:
You sure you didn't ask him if it was true that they beg clients to let them keep machines on site for free after they get fired so optics look good for fundraising and after the round closes a bunch of machines will be taken from sites. That was the word around the exhibit hall.
Dahua?
No, Dahua was professional as well, they also have been providing more details / response on the hacking attacks.
It was Knightscope mentioned above in the thread.
I didn't want to cheat by reading the answers before I replied. I saw the front page and assumed it was them.
I saw the front page and assumed it was them.
A reasonable guess.
Funny thing is that almost any guess is a reasonable guess here, considering the scope of the criticism leveled to date :)
Perhaps Mr. Li would have shown more respect had you introduced yourself as Mr. Robot...
Ohhhh.. Please let me invest $500,000 in a company with a GMAIL email address..... They are definitely here for the long hull...
Dahua
Hikvision?
Note: this has 1,200+ reads so far today. I did not realize how many people were interested in seeing me thrown out of a booth... :)
I suspect the interest isn't so much in someone getting kicked out of a booth but more the circumstances why, and the professionalism (or possibly lack thereof) of the company in question.
Some folks were obviously expecting Dahua or Hikvision and I think it speaks volumes about them that John said they were professional about confronting their various issues. Serious and committed players that will keep fixing things and sell product.
Knight who?
I was expecting Hik, honestly.
Don't forget to visit the IPVM Lagoon at ISC West 2018!
Revenge is a bitch...
You should consider yourself lucky! You could have gotten your shirt snagged on one of the robots and ended up in a fountain somewhere!
