Dear all,

As a starting company we are looking for a wireless alarm system that we can combine with our video monitoring services. The features we would like to incorporate are:

- Also external Alarm monitoring (in our alarm center)

- Combination with home automation features (some of these are also preventive and we relate them to security in that sense)

- Optional power switch that client can control via app (a lot of these systems have this and we want to use this so the client can easily switch of some of the cameras when he is at home to temp disconnect them from monitoring due to privacy. We connect this switch to the power source of the cams, not the NVR/DVR).

I've read the Wireless Burglar Alarm Sensors Guide but there is so much out there, who has good experiences with a system that is reliable and cost effective?

Thanks!

There are lots of wireless alarm sensors out there, but nearly all of them require a panel as a controlling device, in much the same way as the majority of professional grade security cameras need an NVR or server to be able to get full functionality. So you'll need to install a panel in any location to be monitored, point all the wireless sensors towards the panel, and connect the panel to a transmission medium such as a phone line, Ethernet, or a cellular communicator.

If you're planning to monitor the signals yourself, you'll also need a receiver, such as the MX8000 or the D6600, as well as software, such as Manitou.

Here is an interesting discussion on the challenges of self monitoring alarms.
