Genetec Exec Calls Out China "State Financial Backing ... Large-Scale Industrial Espionage"

The criticisms between Genetec and Hikvision continues, with the Genetec VP posting:

Earlier this year, Hikvision attacked Genetec, saying Genetec was playing 'dirty politics' and that Genetec's leadership was 'running fast in the wrong direction'.

This was in response to last year's Genetec expelling of Hikvision, placing them in a newly created 'restricted' category for Chinese government controlled products.

That the Chinese government provides substantial financial backing, supports industrial espionage and represses dissent is true. Whether or not that matters to individual security buyers is the question and debate in the industry.
