Archerfish has shared a training video that examines the setup process for their video analytics. The video is embedded below followed by our commentary:

The setup uses a wizard workflow so the process should be relatively simple for non-technical users. Additionally, there is no calibration nor advanced technical settings required (nor offered).

The setup offers only a few ways to minimize false alerts. One element is that the system allows to filter by people or cars rather than all movement. The other element is setting a minimum duration (no less than 2 seconds) that can reduce false alerts.

Given the lack of calibration, we are curious of how well the system can perform in handling swaying tree branches, leaves, changes in light, shadows, etc. This is especially noteworthy because Archerfish has disclosed very specific implementation guidelines/restrictions (that we argued where unrealistic in March 2010). While those guidlines are not mentioned in the analytic setup video at all, it is reasonable to assume that they need to be met prior to the software setup.
