Frank De Fina was a very kind man with a great sense of humor. He was also an active member of the Security Industry Association Board of Directors. I had the opportunity to work closely with Frank in recent years to develop a new Associates Degree program in security systems technology. I greatly admired his vision and passion for promoting the security industry to students and young professionals as a great source of future employment. Every few months Frank would send me a text or email just to encourage the work we were doing at SIA and to say "thanks" for working with him. It is all of us within the industry and at the Security Industry Association that owe him a debt of gratitude.

Very sad to hear of his passing. I worked under him at Panasonic and Samsung, and he helped me grow in the security field. He was a great and kind person who understood people, the industry, and sales.

You will be missed.

Frank DeFina was a true professional of the video security industry. I had the opportunity to collaborate with him on several occasions and he was alway kind, very strategic and with an amaizing sense of humor. His contribution to SIA on the Associates Degree was a true testimony of his kindness and his desire to give back to the younger generations.

Today the industry lost one of its tremendous contributor and I lost a friend. My condolences goes to his familly, friend and all the people whom knew him.

Don, Herve,

If you have any information on the Associates Degree (documents, URL, website, etc.), please share. I am sure many people would be interested in learning more about it and it would be a nice way to remember and support one of Frank's contributions.

John,

From what I know he helped to put a physical security degree together (in association with SIA) at Mercer County Community College, in NJ.

"The degree prepares students for jobs that support the selling, installation and management, and technical support of physical security systems technologies in an IP-based networked environment."

Frank was - simply put - a mensch. (For those not familiar with Yiddush, it is a high compliment for a man of honor and integrity.) Frank was a gentleman, with a good heart & soul. Sad news. The world - and the Security industry - lost a great guy. RIP Frank!

Very Sad News indeed. Frank was a great leader with an unique vision and character. Since we live in the same neighbourhood, I had the peasure to spend some quality time with him at a small cafe in Cranbury NJ, from time to time, and hear several histories he liked to share. Good times!

He will be missed - deeply. Industly lost an icon. I lost a good friend and mentor.
