Avigilon EVP Engineering Quits

Published May 12, 2015 04:00 AM

One of the big criticisms last year was multiple executives leaving Avigilon.

Now, Avigilon's EVP of Engineering quits out of nowhere.

In this note, we look at how this impacts Avigilon, their engineering organization and their overall management.

The release includes a statement by Danny himself, where he thanks the defacto duumvirate, and is likely included to indicate a parting on good terms and a smooth transition ahead.

I am very appreciative of the Executive team, in particular, Alexander Fernandes and Bryan Schmode (Avigilon's Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President), for the opportunity they've provided me to work with our product development teams.

It's certainly on better terms than the CFO resignation, that's for sure.

If it was a really smooth transition with no issues, it would seem more likely that he would have stayed on for a transition period as they hired a replacement.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about Avigilon. I'm sure Brian Shmode (who will forever remind me of Jonah Hill's portrayal of Donny Azoff in The Wolf of Wall Street) and Alex Fernandez (I'll choke back the expletives that come to mind), will umm and uh their way through this one too. Then they'll ride off into the sunset in their Mazeratis, with their refrigerator white, toothy smiles shining in the sun.
