Not sure what you mean by "main panel" here. Are you refering to "appliances", which are themselves a type of host? Or of the sometimes-encountered architecture where one controller assumes some managment priveliges over others nearby?

Sorry for the long response time. Keep by Feenics does not require any sort of "appliance" device.
Whether or not Keep is hosted by Feenics, the VAR or in the customer's own private cloud, the software talks directly to the Mercury or HID Vertex panels. Let us know if we can help with anything else.
