Bullet Camera Usage Statistics
Bullet cameras seemingly came from nowhere. Only a few years ago, IP bullets were rare, with very limited options. Now, nearly every major manufacturer sells this form factor in varying sizes and feature sets.
With box cameras on the way down and domes up, how much are bullet cameras actually being used? For what applications?
Here we share results from our exclusive integrator surveys to answer these questions.

What about picture quality and performance in terms of the lens optics used and CPU processing power of the bullet style versus boxed & dome type ? On a slightly different note has there been any testing done directly comparing picture quality / performance of a traditional boxed camera with appropriate high spec lens versus a dome & bullet equivalent ?
I appreciate that more and more dome cameras are been used for aesthetic and ease of installations reasons however after a number of recent installs were there was a combination of boxed and domes with equivalent specifications installed the picture quality and performance of the boxed camera in typical internal scenes & challenging scenes was better , just wondering what your thoughts are on this .
B, that's an interesting point and worth a test.
I think there might be some image quality lost in certain scenarios but overall, it's not big enough to stop the shift.
If you recall, years ago, there was a small but strong opposition to varifocal lenses based on the concern of diminished video quality compared to manual, but the shift to varifocal has also been very strong (e.g., Varifocal vs. Fixed Lens Integrator Preference).
That said, again, we'll consider this for a future test.
