John, hard to disagree.

But are there counter arguments for the body camera that readers might consider:

Conceal the aim of the camera - there are places where we want offenders to know we are watching

Ease installation - changing focus on a dome requires removal and replacement of the dome cover, requiring more time and risk of affecting the focus

Maintenance - to clean the lens of a dome, the cover has to be removed and replaced - more time and again this could affect the focus

Lens options - the 50mm lens we want for facial images does not fit in the dome
