Manufacturers, Rat Out Your Competitors

In our recent BRS Labs layoffs post, a member commented:

"I think its very valuable to know about every company. Especially those that have red flags or warning signs. I actually wish IPVM covered this more."

Admittedly, I chuckled slightly about the implication we do not cover these cases enough, as it appears every month we cover company failures, layoffs, financial troubles, fired CEOs, etc. that are reported nowhere else.

That said, we would certainly be happy to cover even more of them.

Send Us Anonymous Tips

Help us help the community by sending us anonymous tips using the contact form. We have a good sense of which companies are generally in trouble, but it is not easy to know exactly when the situation tips (i.e., layoffs, closures, executive firings, etc.). A quick anonymous message can point us in the right direction.

How We Validate Them

When we get tips, we generally do 3 things:

• Contact partners of the company (either other manufacturers or integrators) who have recent direct contact.
• Contact employees of the company (who regularly offer information off the record).
• Contact the official PR/marketing person of the company (who sometimes will confirm at least parts of the situation).

If we get multiple independent verifications (and/or copies of official documents), we will publish it on IPVM.
