BRS Labs is wasting no time responding to today's Texas Tragedy. Their PR agency is imploring 'security industry journalists' to understand how BRS technology might prevent or lessen this type of attack.

And though they admit that their technology is not installed at the campus, and that they, do "not have direct knowledge of the security system there" they emphasize that their company President "knows as much as anyone about large-scale video surveillance and security."

Of course, the challenge is, detecting such events is inherently incredibly hard, especially doing so without triggering many nuisance alerts. Plus, given the high cost of BRS Labs' offering, it's hard to justify for so statistically uncommon a situation.
