Avaak, manufacturer of the Vue home wireless video surveillance system, has raised a Series B of $10 Million USD.

Their main differentiator is that the cameras are battery operated and require no wires for power nor communication (though it records only on motion and not continuously). The secondary differentiator is that the system 'phones home' to a central service allowing for minimal setup/configuration for the non-technical user. For background, read our overview/review of Vue's system.

As shown on Amazon, the Vue system has relatively high sales and many positive reviews. Avaak plans to expand retail distribution of the Vue with this new funds. We believe this type of activity represents a key growth area for the video surveillance market and an incursion into the traditional low end of the video surveillance market.
