How is Dell a great margin, unless you just don't line item it? Anyone can go online and shop the same Dell system you spec and I've seen quite a few customers do it.

If you are simply paying normal website prices for Dell servers, you deserve no margins. You have to work for the discounts.

I've sold lots of Dell computers and servers (relative to being a small business retailer) before and never got that great a discount. That was awhile back, maybe things have changed, but the most we'd ever get from our Dell rep was maybe another $100 off or two. Now, if it was overstock stuff they were trying to get rid of, that was a different story.

I would be interested on hearing more specific feedback about experiences with VERACITY's Coldstore, limited VMS integrations are mentioned, but when it is used with a suitable setup, how did it fair?

[Milestone Husky was mentioned twice, but not even as a clear favorite]

The Husky's problem may be there oddly limited RAID options. Either RAID 5, which I don't think inspires confidence since many feel it is not reliable enough for video applications vs. RAID 6, or the other option they give you is RAID 10, a severe dollar per usable byte cost increase. And they don't support iSCSI connections to other storage arrays, so your options are severely limited there.

Given their close relationship with some other systems builders, I don't think they plan for the Husky to be significant portion of their sales.
