VMS Support Search Released
by John Honovich, IPVM posted on Oct 03, 2010 About John Contact JohnYou may find the perfect camera for your needs but you must make sure that the camera works with your VMS. This can be challenging as many cameras do not work with many VMS systems. Indeed, in our study below, we found more than half of MP networks cameras in our Camera Finder are not compatible with leading VMS systems.
To help alleviate this problem we have added a new feature to our Camera Finder, called VMS Siupport Finder (PRO Member Only feature). This allows you to select your VMS and check to see if the cameras meeting your performance needs are supported by your VMS.
VMS Support Currently
In our study, the average VMS system only supported 45% of megapixel cameras. This study was performed across 20 well known VMS systems and 200 megapixel cameras. The graph below shows the breakdown:
