Just for interest and yes its not an IP camera but how does a 2MP Hikvision TVI camera compare.

All of them are usually in the order of a few seconds. We did not do a shootout because it's generally so fast/inconsequential.

Funny, I was going to add a note in final edits comparing to HD analog but didn't want to seem to be pushing that. However, that is new since 2011 and it does offer radically reduce boot times.

Another interesting test to run, perhaps on the same batch of cameras, is firmware flash time - from the time you click 'go' to the time it's viewable. It's coincidental that I needed to flash a pile of Pelco IP110 cameras (another integrator's choice, not mine) and the Pelco Utilities v2.10.12.0 stated it can take up to 15 minutes for the process to complete... and it did.
