Knesset Video Analytics Case Study
During the months of February and March 2003, ioimage conducted tests of the ioimage video analytics system at the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, located in Jerusalem. Besides being the seat of the government, the Knesset is a popular tourist attraction and for this reason is a tremendous challenge to security. The grounds have extensive perimeter security and surveillance systems. ioimage had the opportunity to install ioiboxes in the Knesset to conduct tests at this highly demanding security facility. The tests included Intrusion Detection, a real-time intrusion detection system, and PTZ Tracking, an automatic camera system for lock-on and tracking of intruders. The ioimage intelligent video detection was tested by the Knesset Security Forces to evaluate and benchmark the system in terms of Probability Of Detection, False Alarms Rate, Automatic tracking capability, and ease of use. During the Case Study, the system experienced a wide variety of weather conditions. Fierce wind constantly battered the Knesset grounds with heavy rain and hail. During the study period, Jerusalem experienced the strongest snowstorm in ten years.
