Salient’s Alarm client, also known as the Dark Screen client displays only relevant events to the security system operator. Video windows are blank until an associated camera shows motion or has alarm event. Video displays instantly on an alarm to catch the attention of the security operator. Salient Systems released CompleteView version 3.0 on April 24, 2008. This is the second major upgrade of Salient’s premiere video management software suite, and adds many new features and capabilities, such as: Mapping Client, Alarm Client, Advanced Mapping Features, Drag and drop interface. Adjustable field of view on cameras. Click and drag editing. Image scaling. Hyperlinked maps. Mapping features allow the creation of maps to provide an overview of installed cameras, provides for building floor plans or other graphics to be imported as background images on which cameras or links to other maps can be placed by drag and drop interface anywhere on the image. A translucent and color coded field of view indicates camera status and is adjustable for depth, width and direction. A simple, but effective overview of mapped areas allow for direct access to live video from any camera on the map.

Salient announces Brian Carle as Product Manager for Salient’s flagship product, CompleteView. Brian will be responsible for continuing the core competencies of the product, launching new functionality with LiveView, Salient’s web client, rolling out MapView, Salient’s newest addition for mapping with drag and drop interface, adjustable field of view, click and drag editing, image scaling and hyperlinked maps. Brian will also be responsible for enhancing the CompleteView product line with Application Development Partners and will be instrumental in implementing the company’s future strategies. Brian Carle recently served as ADP Program Manager for Axis Communications, the industry leader in the global network video market, where he was responsible for designing and developing the Axis’s Application Development Partner program. Since 2000, Brian has held positions as Technical Support Engineer and Senior Sales Engineer and has been a speaker at forums such as VSI Summit, SIA webinars, IP Institute and Axis Communications Academy.
